Living with Ghosts, Harrowgate with Kate Maruyama

In this episode of Are You There, Ghost? It’s Me, Chiwan, our host catches up with horror writer extraordinaire Kate Maruyama, who was raised in a small college town in New England and now lives in Los Angeles with her family. Chiwan first met her in 2014 and was knocked out by her debut novel, Harrowgate, of which Daniel Handler, author of A Series of Unfortunate Events, says, “Strangely moving and movingly strange, Harrowgate is the world’s creepiest answer to ‘How’s the wife and kid?'” Her new book, the novella Family Solstice, is equally frightening and equally moving.
